Fokus Firm is driven by the rare synergy of founders Brian Westbrook and James Hastings, whose

combined experience and acumen in multimedia production, business, and the unique challenges faced

by aspiring young artists. Their earliest investment was a 16-year-old, aspiring rapper whom Westbrook

and Hastings talked out of the street life and into focusing on his music instead. After a year of

development and recording, the young man was shot six times during an attempted robbery of a jewelry

store. Haunted by the funeral and their young protégé’s desperation to get noticed and make a living,

Westbrook and Hastings made it their personal mission to help creatives and artists access financially

viable means of showcasing their talents.
